Thailand: Ko Phi Phi

Our final destination in Thailand was Phi Phi Island.  This place is truly paradise.  In order to get there we had to fly to Phuket.  The guide picked us up and drove us around the island to see the 3 main beaches and then we stopped for lunch.  We were then dropped off at a marina where our hotel arranged a speed boat to take us to Phi Phi Island.

We stayed at Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort & Spa.  The resort grounds are amazing!  A beautiful pool area with a swim up bar, pristine beach, and super cute bungalows and villas.  We were originally booked to stay in two single bungalows, but since we were with my parents, they upgraded us to a private villa!  The villa was like a 2 story house with a private infinity pool and outdoor lounge. Breakfast to our villa was complimentary (the buffet breakfast was also outstanding), and they also offered us afternoon tea each day we were there.  The resort provided a pack and play that was a little on the dirty side with no mosquito netting.  Since being in Thailand, I have gotten several bites and now being in nature there were definitely more flying  around.  I decided to use the travel crib while we were here since the Phil and Ted one I brought is fully enclosed.

After a week and a half of constant movement, we wanted to dedicate these last few days to relax. We spent most of our time in the pool or by the beach, ate great food at the resort restaurants, and my mom and I got massages.

We had so much fun on this trip, and Leah was a trooper dealing with the disruption to her routine. Good-bye, Thailand!  You were amazing and will be missed!

Leah did so well on the flights home as well.  She slept for 6 hours in the beginning, woke up for a couple more hours to eat and play, and then back to sleep. When we arrived back at LAX, it took forever to get through customs. It seems like we have the most inefficient system out of all the airports we were in this trip. All the other airports saw us with a baby and let us go into a special line. At LAX, we got escorted to a different line, and it ended up being the longest! We were the very last people to get out of customs at 11pm. Leah was not thrilled. We were all exhausted by the time we got home and passed out!! It was so nice to be back in our own bed though!
