Teething!

I bought these teethers awhile back from Little Sapling Toys, and Leah loves them.  They're eco friendly, made in the USA, and they plant a tree for every toy sold.  I bought them for Leah because I really liked the fact that you could get it personalized so I didn't have to write on it or label it.  They also make great gifts.  Leah has chewed all over these guys.

What inspired this post was I just got an email from Zulily that they were having a deal for Little Sapling Toys!  You can get two teethers for $29.99.  Leah loves hers so much, I thought I'd share this find with everyone else.  :)  I think the deal ends Saturday!

Totally Random...

post, but I just love these plant bases from Bird and Feather! We've been living in our house for 5 years now, and it still looks like we just moved in - bare walls and not much decor.  These bases give such a fun vibe and they're only $6 or $10 if you want the plant.  I'm trying not to buy too many.  I think they'll be great to grow herbs in though.

10 Months!

Leah's 10 months today!  Her 1st birthday is quickly approaching, and I'm in full birthday planning mode.  Matt and I are in shock that we're closer to having a toddler rather than a baby.  Here are some updates:
  • Size 3 diapers
  • Army crawls everywhere
  • Climbs up stairs
  • Pulls herself to stand
  • Claps her hands and waves
  • Developing more separation anxiety.  She used to be really good when I dropped her off at day care or the nursery at church, but now she will cling onto me and cry when I give her to someone else.  When we're at home she'll play by herself, but every few minutes will look around to make sure I'm there.  If she can't see me, she'll cry - even if daddy is around. Hopefully, this doesn't last too long!
Leah: Another month has flown by. You're talking/babbling so much these days, and I always wonder what's going on inside your head.  I look forward to the day we can understand what you're saying. Your favorite person is mommy, and I love that so much {even though daddy's a little jealous}.  I cherish every hug, grab, and cling because I know one day you will want your independence.  I love it when you follow me around the house or grab my hand so that you can rest your head on it.  Thank you for being such a sweet and happy baby.  I pray everyday that God gives me the wisdom to raise you well in this crazy world.  Happy 10 months baby!  xoxo

Birthday Dinner

Matt took me out to Sushi Nishi Ya in Glendale for my birthday.  It's located in a nondescript strip mall, and the restaurant could use a little makeover.  However, this was by far one of my favorite meals ever! They only serve Omakase style, and instead of a set course menu, they keep serving you until you tell them to stop.  The fish melted in your mouth and was from all over the world - Japan, Scotland, Hawaii, Florida, etc.  I wish I could come here everyday!

Battle Wound

Leah's top two teeth broke through, and her biting ways are back.  This is my first official bite mark.  How do you train a 9.5 month old not to bite?  My mom told me I was a pretty bad biter, so I'm reallly hoping Leah doesn't follow in my footsteps!

Santa Barbara

Matt has a bunch of mini-business trips this month, but luckily Leah and I get to tag along!  This past weekend we went to Santa Barbara and got to stay at this super cute boutique hotel, Canary Hotel.  The hotel gave us a suite which was awesome with a baby.  We were able to have her nap in the bedroom and close the door so that we didn't have to tip toe around.  The hotel was right next to State Street which has plenty of shops and restaurants to stroll around.

We took her to the pool again, and she squealed when she saw the pool.  This time we sat her on the ledge to let her kick her feet a little bit.  After a minute, she closed her eyes, stuck her stomach out, and belly flopped into the pool!  It freaked me out at first, but when she came up laughing we thought it was the cutest thing.  We wanted to see if she was doing that on purpose or if it was an accident, so we sat her on the ledge a couple more times and she kept diving back into the pool!  Matt and I were totally amazed.  Of course, the next day when I tried to take a video, she refused to do it.

Leah was on the couch playing with my iPhone.  This is her self-photograph.

Hope you're having a good week!

How Cute Is This...

Leah's daycare makes some of the cutest crafts. I love it! These were crafts made to go with the beach theme the school had for the summer.  I brought them home and set them on the table.  That evening when I went into the kitchen to clean up, I discovered that daddy had posted them on the fridge.   She's a total daddy's girl.
