East Coast Trip: Philly

Last Thursday we left for the first stop of our East Coast vacation - Philly.  Matt lived here for a few years, and when we decided we were going back East, he wanted to show me his old stomping grounds.  Leah was amazing on the flight there.  We were fortunate to have the third seat in our row empty, so Leah had a lot more space to move back and forth between Matt and I.  She slept for about an hour and half and laughed and waved at everyone when she was awake.

We stayed at The Rittenhouse Hotel, and it was by far the most family friendly hotel we've stayed at so far.  When we checked in, they showed Leah their "treasure box" and let her pick a toy.  Since she didn't get what to do, Matt chose a toy for her - a set of Hot Wheels.  :)  We get to our room and a full sized crib has already been set up for us!  Inside the crib was a mini-bathrobe, mini-slippers, and the Good Night Philadelphia book.  How awesome is that?!  As you can see above, Leah is a very happy camper.

We were starving by the time we got to the hotel, so we quickly settled in and left to find a place to grab food.  Of course being in Philly, we ate a cheese steak sandwich. {I was too hungry to take a picture of it, but it was delicious!}  When we arrived back to our hotel, a glass of milk and plate of cookies were waiting for us!  Again, how awesome is this hotel?!

Of course we have to get Dunkin' Donuts while we're out here.

The next day, we walked around the city, hung out in Rittenhouse Square, visited friends of Matt's, ate at DiNiC's in the Reading Terminal Market, and stopped by Federal Donuts
